In social studies for the next few weeks, we will do a study of inventors and how they have impacted the history of not only the United States but also the world.  We will look at the life and accomplishments of such people as Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, The Wright Brothers, Earl W. Bascom (rodeo entrepreneur), Karl Benz, Henry Ford,  George Washington Carver, etc. 
     The students will also look at examples of advertisements and discuss which group of people the products are marketed for.  We will discuss the ideas of supply and demand and look at how price affects how much of a product is sold. 
     We will then combine what we have learned about inventors and advertising/marketing to create a product.  The students will decide which group they want to market their product to and then work on a campaign for selling the product.  We will incorporate what we learned about money in math as well as utilize skills we have acquired in writing.
